Sinduk (“the App”) is developed and published by BackspaceX. Sinduk is designed to help users securely organize and manage important personal records, documents, dates, and related information on their own devices.
Your privacy is important to us. Sinduk is designed with a local-first approach and does not require an account to use the App.
1. Information We Collect
BackspaceX does not collect, receive, or store the personal information that you enter into Sinduk.
The App allows you to store information such as:
- Identity and document information
- Financial record information
- Business and organizational records
- Education records
- Property and vehicle information
- Insurance information
- Travel documents
- Warranty and membership information
- Important dates and expiry dates
- Notes and custom fields
- Images, PDFs, and other supported document attachments
This information is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to BackspaceX servers.
2. Account and Registration
Sinduk does not require you to create an account or register with BackspaceX.
We do not require your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information to use the App.
3. Local Data Storage and Encryption
Sinduk is designed to store your vault data locally on your device.
The App uses security measures including encryption to protect vault information and supported document attachments.
Your Vault Password, PIN, biometric authentication, and Recovery Key are used as part of Sinduk’s security and access mechanisms.
BackspaceX does not have access to your Vault Password or Recovery Key and cannot recover your vault if you lose the credentials required for recovery.
You are responsible for securely storing your Vault Password, Recovery Key, and backups.
4. Documents and Camera Access
Sinduk may allow you to:
- Select documents or images from your device
- Take a photo using your device camera
- Scan documents
- Attach supported files to records
- View or share documents that you choose
Camera, file, or media access is used only when necessary to perform an action initiated by you.
Documents and images added to Sinduk are not automatically uploaded to BackspaceX.
5. Notifications and Reminders
Sinduk can provide local notifications for important dates, expiry dates, and reminders that you configure.
The App may request notification permission from your device.
Reminder information is processed locally for the purpose of scheduling notifications. BackspaceX does not operate a remote notification service for your personal reminders.
You may disable notifications through your device settings.
6. Biometric Authentication
If supported by your device, Sinduk may allow you to use biometric authentication, such as fingerprint authentication, to unlock the App.
Biometric verification is performed through your device’s operating system. Sinduk does not collect or store your fingerprint or other biometric data.
7. Backup and Restore
Sinduk allows you to create an encrypted backup of your vault.
You may choose where to save or share the backup using services and applications available on your device.
BackspaceX does not automatically upload or store your backups.
If you choose to save or share a backup through a third-party service, such as a cloud storage provider, email service, messaging application, or file-sharing service, the handling of that file is subject to the privacy practices and terms of that third party.
8. Sharing
Sinduk allows you to share certain information, documents, or backups through the Android sharing interface.
Sharing occurs only when you initiate the action.
Once information is shared with another application or service, Sinduk and BackspaceX cannot control how that third party stores, processes, or distributes the shared information.
You should use caution when sharing sensitive information.
9. Recovery Key
Sinduk may generate or provide a Recovery Key that can be used as part of the vault recovery process.
Your Recovery Key is sensitive information. You should keep it in a secure location separate from your encrypted backup.
If you choose to copy, export, save, or share your Recovery Key, you are responsible for protecting the resulting copy.
BackspaceX does not receive or maintain a copy of your Recovery Key.
10. Internet Connection
An internet connection is not required for Sinduk’s core record-management functionality.
Sinduk does not automatically synchronize your personal vault data with BackspaceX servers.
11. Third-Party Services
Sinduk does not use third-party advertising services to display advertisements in the App.
The App is not designed to sell your personal information or vault contents to third parties.
Certain operating-system features or third-party applications may be involved when you voluntarily share, save, open, scan, or otherwise interact with files outside Sinduk. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.
12. Analytics and Tracking
Sinduk does not use your vault contents for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Sinduk does not sell your personal data.
Your personal records and documents are not used by BackspaceX for advertising purposes.
13. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your Sinduk vault is stored locally, your vault data generally remains on your device until you delete individual records, remove App data, or uninstall the App.
BackspaceX cannot remotely delete or retrieve locally stored vault information because BackspaceX does not maintain a server-side copy of your vault.
Encrypted backup files that you create separately must be deleted by you from the location where you saved them.
14. Security
Sinduk is designed with security measures intended to protect locally stored information.
However, no software, device, or security system can guarantee absolute security.
You should protect your device, Vault Password, PIN, Recovery Key, and backup files and avoid sharing sensitive information with untrusted persons or applications.
15. Children’s Privacy
Sinduk is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
BackspaceX does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Sinduk’s servers because Sinduk does not operate a server-based account or personal-data collection system for the App.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Sinduk’s functionality, legal requirements, or privacy practices change.
When the policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
